dvstorm2 card and viewing DVD being played from dvd-rom drive

What software, if any, do you guys recommend for viewing a dvd playing from the rom drive, but piped through the svhs out port of my dvstorm2 card to an external monitor? Note this is not dv on a timeline, it is an actual disc being played in my dvd rom. So far I have had no success with this. Maybe it can't be done this way, but that is why I am asking.

Thanks

I don't see how this can be done. DVD player software doesn't
work that way. It just outputs through your video card who
can usually be hooked up to a TV if it has analog out.

The bigger question is why would you want this? Standalone
DVD players can be bought for as little as $50 these days.

I know they cost $50 bucks, but I had the need to watch a training video while using my nle, and I wanted to avoid having to spend the extra money it if could be avoided. Intervideo and other companies make dvd player software (some of which I own), so it seemed like it may be possible to do an external monitor viewing. Either way it was worth a shot. Also, not having an extra device connected to my editing work area cuts down on the clutter.

Thanks

Well yeah such products are available. I have both WinDVD and
PowerDVD in various incarnations. But if you don't, that is some-
thing you must purchase as well. Anyway it won't do this, sorry.
