big disappointment on Bravo SE

3 Attachment(s)
So I decided to move from Epson RX595 to Bravo SE from Primera ($300 --> $1600).
I printed an exact file and Primera one was absolute disaster...
Epson seems had more accurate color to the original photo with better dpi looking (actually lower than Primera, though).
Primera one was yellow with washed out color and can see the dots which made me doubt that it really has 4800dpi.
I emailed the Primera and I am sure I will hear from them otherwise, I am boxing this thing up and send it back...
Any quick fix to that?
I set everything on Primera for best, best, best.
I should print color bars or something to match the color first?

Hey J.J.,

I know where you are coming from.

I have an Epson Stylus 1400 and used to have a Primera Bravo II autoprinter.

The Primera can be made to look good, but their color implementation is off. I have all of my screens calibrated for photo work and the Primera prints always needed adjusting to get proper color. I made a custom monitor color scheme to match the printer's output which helped, but should not be needed.

Solution? - Get out your wallet!

I recently purchased a used Teac P-55 and it is the best output I have ever seen on a disc.

The Epson does a nice job on the Watershield discs for smaller run jobs, but the Teac is in its own league.

I just packed everything back up to original box.
This printer is one of the worst that I have seen for color matching to the original.
R.I.P. Bravo SE.

Just wait until you have to buy ink for the Primera - they really sock it to you on ink cost.

That's strange because I own an Epson R1800 and the Primera Bravo SE and the Primera prints more accurately than my Epson.

Have you played with the print settings on the Primera?
