DVD Duplication
 

Hi

Does anyone have any experience of CD/DVD Copier towers? I thinking of the type that take a disc, and copies to a number of other DVD drives in the machine. They seem to vary between 3 and 7 slots, sometimes more.

I'd never seen them before, until I googled DVD duplicators, and I'm wondering if they're reliable as one may be handy for a potential project I have.

Any help appreciated.

I'm actually looking more for people's experience of using these devices rather than a particular supplier. ie... If they work well, tend to produce many dud copies, etc...

I've only used duplicators from Disc Makers and have been very pleased. I've probably made over 5,000 copies and the only coasters I've made can be easily traced back to my own mistakes.

Just a couple pieces of advice from what I've learned:

1. Don't buy cheap media. I always use Taiyo-Yuden Premium or Disc Makers Ultra (which I suspect are rebranded TY disks.) I'm not saying those are the only good disks, but when I find something that works well, I want to stick with it.

2. Don't record at the top speed. For example, if you're buying 16x DVDs, burn them at 12x or 8x. If you're buying 8x DVDs, burn them at 4x or 6x.

3. Don't use stick-on labels. EVER!!!
