FCE capturing footage from DVD

I want to bring some DVD footage into FCE. I plan to run it out my DVD player's S video port into my pd150 then through firewire into FCE. My question is, is there some way in FCE to capture footage that has no time code? Is there a setting where I can turn off time code in FCE? Or do I need to record to tape then digitize?

Don't quite know what system you are running, but why not just rip it off the disk itself? A lot of times you can take the VOB folder and copy it to your hard drive. I know FCP can open the video file. Or get yourself some DVD ripper software. Just a suggestion. Could save you some hassle.

Good Luck.

In the capture setting select non controllable device then play your dvd and use the capture now button.
