Promax side by side DVD Comparision
 

Hi,

I just got my Promax produced DVD that has a side by side comparison
of the AG-DVX100 and a Sony PD150. WOW, does the DVX100 look GOOD.
The PD150 is no slouch, but the DVX100 looks much more like film to me.
I am not sure exactly what modes the two cameras were in, but I would guess
the DVX100 was in 24P. Too bad Promax did give us the camera settings
in this comparision.

So, my question is, how well does the DVX100 do in low light conditions as
compared to the PD150? Anyone?

The only footage I have seen has been recorded in the 24P mode and it looks incredible! I saw a variety of footage shot by an employee in the store who had the camera with him over the Christmas holiday. There was indoor, outdoor, and even Christmas nativity footage he was showing me and it all looked incredible. The nativity footage had the be the most extreme lighting condition since the only light was from Christmas decoration and stringed lighting and I could not believe it. The only thing about low light situations recorded in the 24P mode is that there is no Gain allowed in this mode. But from what I have seen the look although dark was very nice and completely acceptable.

This is the only camera I have ever seen to create such a uniqure look. The look it creates is so smooth and filmic that it has me hooked. I wish I had seem this camera a long time ago.

Today I took the Promax comparison DVD and projected it in the video studio.
The image was about 24 feet by 18. I was mildly surprised that the DVX100
looked sharper than the PD150 and the color (not sure about white balance)
looked better too imo. Very nice and much sharper than the XL1.

How does one acquire a copy?

I looked at promax.com and didn't see anything.
