DVD burning help, nero, AVI length

I'm having an issue with trying burn a data DVD with nero. One of my movies is 6:51 long, and for some reason, Windows Media Player will not recognize it as longer than 4:42, and a size of 1.45 GB (it's larger than that in reality--uncompressed DV AVI). I know that that time/file size is a magic number for windows, and I don't know how to get around it. If I view the file using the VLC media player, everything's great, but again, WMP lies to me about the length size. So anyway, that also translates to it being burned on the DVD--ends up on the DVD as 1.45 GB, and 6:51 long.

I'm burning a data DVD instead of regular 'cause it's for a submission to a film fest type thing, and I just didn't want to send a miniDV tape, but still wanted it uncompressed.

I rendered the AVI with Vegas 4, if that matters.

60 mins of DV is about 13G so 1.45G is about right for 6:51. Am I missing something?

Guess the file size is right, then, but the problem is that when I try to play it using WMP, it tells me it's 4:42 long, and cuts off at the 4:42 mark. Using VLC media player, it plays fine, and displays the correct time. I dunno. . .if someone copies the file off the disc and tries to recompress/encode it for the web (that's what those-to-whom-I"m-submitting will be doing with these files), is it gonna cause problems? Will it only encode a file 4:42 long? Or am I worrying needlessly?

If VLC plays the file then there is likely nothing wrong with the file. Why not put on a disc and ask a friend to load on their computer and play. 4:42 is about 1G of DV so something is limiting playback to a 1G file. Anyone who will encode your file is going to have to use some form of encoder and is likely to be knowledgable enough to figure that out if you have given them the file size and run time. I assumed you rendered to a DV file?

Yeah, that's what I thought of. Yeah, these people probably have all kinds of NLEs and whatnot, and it should all work out once you put the file on a timeline. So. . .sorry for the ruckus.
