Help making DVD from FCP!?
 

Hey guys, i just finished a DV project that is a few minutes over an hour in length. Anyways i try exporting this as a self-contained quicktime over to iDVD and it will not accept it because it says the file is too large (4.5gb) and a dvd only holds 4gb. I need some advice/tips on the best way to go about getting this onto a DVD without losing quality etc. Thanks

oh, also, i would like to make some basic menus and use a picture as the main background of the menu in the DVD, i also tried using toast 7, BUT after i burnt the DVD there was no video!

Somewhere in the preferences of iDVD you should be able to change the encoding settings to try to fit more content of the disc. For the menu just choose a very simple theme and from the finder you should be able to drop a photo in as the background for your menu.
