Dvd Studio Pro question.
Hello everyone! Is it possible to put 3 hours of movie on one single layer Dvd in Studio Pro? If not, what is the maximum amount of time. I just videotaped a 9 hour event, and im wondering if this could all fit on 3 Dvd's. I know Idvd allows only 1 1/2 hour running time on one Dvd.
Appreciate your response. Thank you, Rickey |
I have just recorded a 2hr 20min (approx) clip to DVD using DVD Studio Pro. In compressor (exporting from FCP) I selected the 120min Mpeg2 setting. The 150min setting should give you more footage per DVD, but at a lower quality setting.

I just made 2 2.5 hour DVDs for a client yesterday. I had five hours of raw footage in FCP in one timeline. I split it right at 2 and a ha;f housr and exported two reference movies then dragged them into DVD SP4. I used the Fastest Encode 150min setting.

Thanks for replying.
I just called Apple support and the tech guy told me that the maximum amount of time I can put in Dvd SP is 2 hours, he said that I can exceed that amount of time by just lowering the bit rate compression but that he said would degrade the video quality. Terence your right, Idvd can go up to 2 hours, actually I have the version 6 and I guess I'll just author them in there. |
