DVD Architect burning functionality: lousy?

Am I the only one experiencing problems with the DVD burning feature of DVD Architect? I've never gotten the pack & burn to complete successfully all the way through. Typically after packing, the burning feature will chug away for hours without actually burning before ejecting the disc unruined. Sometimes it works on a second try, but at this point I've taken to just writing an ISO and using a different program to burn. Suggestions?

My DVDA-4 will hang on the lead-out for a long time occasionally. I can eject the disc after a couple minuted even if it says it isn't done when I actually is. It isn't every time I try and burn a disc, however.

NEVER had a problem with Architect.

I use it on a laptop and a home-built PC with no problems. Perhaps your DVD-burner needs replacing???

You need to eliminate as many variables as possible, so I would defrag my hard drive, check the virtual memory settings, and make sure all other apps are closed (including the bunch that usually self-opens in the system tray), esp. things like anti-virus ware.

It's definitely not the burner (works great) or anything lame like virtual memory or disk fragmentation. I have plenty of computer to burn DVDs and I don't have any senseless process-eating software running in the system tray.

If, in fact, one cannot have any other programs running when using DVD Architect to burn, then put this one in the "lousy software" category. None of my burning programs have problems burning with other stuff running.

It's not enough of an issue to prompt me to go through the hassle of any troubleshooting. I'll just render to ISOs first and burn with a different burning program from now on.
