Need help exporting to DVD.. First time!
 

I am editing on PC based Adobe Premiere. What are the specifics that I need to export my timeline so that I can properly use it to put onto DVD. Such as, FPS-Audio Rate-Size- and most importantly CODEC/Compression. I was very confused as how to do this. Any help would be appreciated. I am using DVD authoring "My DVD".

DVD only accepts a very specific file type and that is MPEG2.
Even this must be a special DVD compliant MPEG2 as well.
Basically it must be FULL PAL or NTSC resolution at the full
framerate (25 or 30 fps) and must be under 9.8 mbps (including
audio, video and subtitles etc.).

The best way to start is to either get an NLE that does it all
(Vegas 4 + DVD Architect looks nice) or have a DVD burning
program/authoring program that can also encode to MPEG2
for you with all the correct parameters.

There is no really easy way at this moment that I know off.

As Rob says you must export a MPEG-2 file. I use MyDVD too, although I look forward to an affordable (for me) app that encodes AC-3 audio. This link (http://dvd-hq.info/Compression.html) describes settings for the export. Here they apply to TMPGEnc, but are a good guide no matter what codec you use for the export. I use softMPG in Premiere 6.02, but you have one built into version 6.5. For the first time, ignore the advice about encoding audio separately. Export one file with audio and video - MyDVD will do the rest of the work when you import the file.

I forgot one detail. I change the file extension on the exported MPEG-2 from m2p (I think) to mpg. If you have any problems viewing or importing yours, try that.
