Thx Chris.
the 2x anamorphic adapter used was a Kowa prominar anamorphic 16-H also known as 8-Z.
beautifull piece of glass considered by many as the best available scope lens for 16mm/8mm projectors. in my humble opinion, the 2nd best option besides the mighty Isco that now run for crazy prices at auctions worldwide.
it is a projector lens adapter with a focusing ring to adjust the screen distance from about 5ft to infinity. when filming trough it, it effectively squeezes light along the horizontal axis if aligned properly, allowing to record twice the width over standard resolution picture. it is like having a different focal length on vertical and horizontal axis doubling the horizontal field of view. this alone brings all kinds of sharpness and focusing issues as one must stop down their taking lens to get useable pictures and minimum distance might need some dioptres to help focusing.
