National Geographic-Earth explorer desert adventure

Here is a link to a promotional video I shot with the Canon 7d.

This long version will be presented in National Geographic mega stores, exhibitions, ext. Two shorter versions will be online soon.

We were on location for 3 short days with extremely small crew.

Camera functioned amazingly and survived the weather/send with no problems.

More info about the production and equipment used, very soon.

Thank you and I hope you will take the time to watch this long version.

Fascinating video Johnnie, with some excellent shots!

For me this completely silences any doubts that the 7D can be used as a totally professional tool!

I'm very interested to hear what equipment you used on the shoot, the results you got are fantastic.

I've been trying to record the sunrise lately with a Canon superzoom IS series camera and have wondered how to minimize the sun's washing out effect as you have successfully achieved. Looks like a star filter on there. Would love to know more.

Very nice! I'm a fan of the National Geographic series of bags, using 2 of them now and I find that the bags suit my work style.

Great shots btw :)

How did you hook up the 7D for the aerial shots?

Cheers

Awesome video! Some good production value in there!

Glad to see a video coming from the 7D that doesn't use all shallow DOF shots just because you can do it.

Dear friends.

I would like to thank you all who took the time and watched the video.
Please accept my apology for being slow to answer some of the questions asked in this thread.

I am challenged by the 7d on daily bases shooting my latest documentary project (hope to share footage soon).

Regarding the NG video:
Hope you will have few seconds and take a look at some production notes I posted here: http://www.dslrnewsshooter.com/2010/...venture-on-7d/

Thanks again!

Johnnie
