"Back Down" - A short film shot on the 550D/T2i

This is a short film, following the journey of a young girl walking "back down" a steep bank.

This was more a test to see what the camera was capable of producing more than anything else, but the final film worked fairly well as a continuity sequence.

Shot on a 550D/T2i at Macclesfield Forest on a rare sunny day in Britain. Every shot used the 50mm f1.8 lens.

Actress:
My lovely girlfriend, Jenny Poppitt

Hope you guys enjoy it :)

Very good composition. Good colours. Some detail on the lenses and software please.

Wonderful images. Are you using ND filters? I am trying to figure how to get such shots outdoors.

Sam Piggott June 20th, 2010 04:52 PM

No, I'm not! Just the 550D with a 1.8 attatched at the end, changing the aperture dependent on whether the sun was in or not! Could really use an ND filter though!

Sam, your work is great, I am a fan. This is purely a comment about the lens.

The nifty fifty suffers from a lack of saturation and general coherence, colour wise, and I think you can clearly see that what it produces.

Cole Seidl June 25th, 2010 07:24 PM

I think you may have just convinced me to sell my kit lens and buy the 50mm.

Bruce Foreman June 25th, 2010 11:14 PM

Keep the "kit" lens and buy the 50mm also.
