Excellent Don! You using all EF lenses? Must have been hell of a time to focus with all that action.

THe only thing I can point is out is I don't like how the skin tones are rendered. Too orange, some blown out to yellow.. I don't know if it's because of the stage lighting or if white balance could have resolved it..

Nice job Don! What other cameras will you be incorporating the 5d? I would love to know what lens you use and your setup as well.

I'm finding that to be very common now with the 5DMkII footage. There's a certain point in exposure where skin tones simply blow out, and flatten more than I'd want. I've been comparing footage shot myself and elsewhere and comparing it to the HVX200, and I notice that although overexposure can lead to the same blowout, the image holds up gradient detail greater before turning flat. I'd dare to say HVX has more latitude, but I'm not sure that's really true. But it may be true for certain color tones, orange-based skin tone being one of them. Refer to the searching for sonny trailer to see more of this.

Who is Sonny Basbas? - it's even all over their promo banner.

Bottom line is it pays to slightly underexpose everything on the 5DMkII. However, they've made it pretty hard to control that haven't they!

But ultimately, I think overall the Resurrection and the Life video is absolutely stunning imagery that goes into the "best-of" bucket of 5DMkII examples. Awesome vid.

thanks everyone for checking the clip out.

in this test i wanted to see how well the auto white balance work. this was a good test for it because of the changing lights on each segment of the play. it did not do as well as i would like. it would shift colors at times. i was pressed for time to put this out so that the chuch could use it to promot the shows. therefore i did not spend enough time color correcting some of the shots good enough. too orangy in some shots.

lenses were canon 24-70 2.8L & 70-200 2.8L

I really like the color tone here.. the skintone is very natural.

I'm surprised you pick that video as an example of preferable 5DMkII footage. Although there's some nice abstract dof shots, the skin tones aren't anything to brag about.
