which to buy?

i use a sony trv900 minidv camcorder

mostly, it's indoor, but i still need a dubbing solution, and thought, why not get rid of the 60/80 min ceiling as well?

anyhow, what i would like is for someone to tell me if there is a hdd recorder that could accept firewire input from the camcorder, record in raw dv format, then output via firewire back to the camcorder for tape distribution.

and will i be able to do at least some very basic editing by simply "skipping over" unwanted portions of recording, even if it means just putting the camcorder on pause while fast forwarding the hdd recorder?

thanks!

i'm new here as of today, so hope this isn't a question that's been asked (and answered!) dozens of times before!

Any responses personally?

I too have the TRV 900 and FCP and wondered what the best Direct to Disk option is.
