I'm looking to get some more filters for my HV-20. Essentially, graduated neutral density and a few types of diffusion. (I'm not really convinced that the diffusions will be valuable, but I'd like play around w/ them and see how they work.)

I see that most of these filters don't come in 43mm. Some come is 49mm. And all of them come in 52mm and 55mm.

I've been told to go w/ 55mm over 52mm b/c it's always better to go larger than smaller. IDK, as I also remember hearing that some lens accessories can obstruct the AF system and degrade its performance.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much.

anyone found the FS-H200 or the regular FS-5 to work on their HV20?

has anyone found the focus enhancements FS-H200 or the regular FS-5 to work on their HV20? Reason is that the FS-CV seems to be much more expensive than the FS-5 (not sure why, other than additional investment that was needed for development) or FS-H200.

Anyway I am looking for something DTE that I could use to capture uninterrupted HDV for a second (unmanned) camera and the focus products might fit what I'm looking for in this case (different than my other posts for a different capture device).

I know I could set up a laptop etc for this too, but I'm really looking for something field ready and not too expensive.

Has anyone gotten either of the non-Canon-based Focus Enhancements products to work successfully with their HV20 in the field?

Tea totalled charger

Here's some horror pictures of what happens when some idiot spills a cup of tea into your very expensive Canon CB-2LWE battery charger and doesn't notice.

I might have saved it if I had opened it up right away, but it wasn't until a week later that I tried to use it.

Now replaced - I won't leave the new one lying about.

Need Help! Trying something unusual

Basically I am trying to use an HV40 as a webcam to do a live web broadcast through my companies main network. So far everything has worked but I'm experiencing some very strange field separation issues. When ever I pan it's incredibly apparent. Anyone got any ideas on how to fix this? Has anyone had the same issue before?

The camera is connected to the computer via fire-wire. The application we're using to broadcast is Microsoft Live Meeting. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

HV30 vs HPX170 low light comparison

I know they are 2 completely different camcorders but I was really interested in having some feedbacks about how those 2 camcorders compares in low light conditions. I have heard amazing things about the low light capabilities of the HV30.
