up the creek/drowning fast!!

Trying not to panic here. I have a half-hour DVD that I created last year. Some of my original media files (about 5 minutes of them) are gone...accidently trashed. They don't exist. I now have to either reshoot that footage, and there isn't really time, or I have to pull the footage from the DVD so I can re-edit some other sections.

Can you give me any suggestions for Plan B? Should I try to work in DVD Studio Pro, combining the Video_TS files with new files I export from FCP?

HELP

Not that you would want to lose any quality, but is there any way you could dub the DVD to a tape format that you could then ingest into FCP?

Maybe a solution instead of reshooting?

Right now I'm trying to import the DVD into MPEG Streamclip. Will report back.

Life was so good until now!

The Pro version works like a charm

Ben, thanks. If what I'm doing doesn't work, I'll give it a shot.

Just want to report back that everything SEEMS ok so far. I imported/converted to 100% quality QT in MPEG Streamclip (free software!), then placed the single, very long QT file into FCP. Editing works fine so far. Of course, I won't rest easy until I have a successful burn from DVDSP!

P.S. Thanks to all who resisted the temptation to say I should have been more careful with my source material. I know, I know!

Hey, i have lost source material as well. And I keep this shit on the computer for 6 months. I have big boxes of tapes now, I am so afraid Joe Client is going to want another DVD after a year (and they have) that I wont toss anything.
