DeFocus Filter in FCP 6.0.1?

Apparently a DeFocus filter was released with FCP 6.0.1...

I can't seem to find it anywhere? Any ideas?

Chris!

I'm presuming no one has actually found it?

Have you tried actually looking at your filter menus? Here's a huge list of blur types including "DeFocus".

Thanks Robert!

Doesn't help though... On my Mac it's not there.

Which has made me think - maybe the DeFocus filter (and possibly others) are only available on Intel Mac's or one's with good video cards? The Mac in question is only an old eMac...

Didn't think of that possibility...

Yes, you're right; many of the filters and effects are the "FXPlug" type which are GPU accelerated and require certain hardware requirements found only on the later G5 models, Nvidia/ATI cards and the newer Intel-Macs.

So, you're long overdue for an upgrade!
