Mac OSX 10 versus Leopard?

I just set up my mac and Leopard isn`t preinstalled....I`m wondering what the difference is between them that has everyone jumping for joy, and shouw I install it?

I don't think the new machines are shipping with it pre-installed yet but I could be mistaken. There are some new tweeks to the OS. What you really ought to be concerned with is its interaction with your NLE software.

You might want to ask this question down in the Mac editing forum since those folks down there can tell you whether to jump on the upgrade bandwagon or wait. Often times the upgrades significantly affect other software so with a Mac it's usually a good idea to wait a couple of months so you don't inadvertently mess up your workflow when you find out Photoshop (or whatever) doesn't work quite right with the new OS.

I haven't had a problem with it yet on FCS1 and my dual G5.

Hi Nathan. I moved your thread to our Mac forum. I haven't used Leopard yet myself, so I don't know what compatability issues you might have. However if this is a new machine which you're still setting up, it might make more sense to install Leopard now so you have it in place before you install all your other applications. There are often some issues when you migrate to a new operating system on a machine that already has a lot of software installed on it.

ahh just read there are some issues with CS3 that a patch will be released this month for. Any other sotware issues you`ve hit?
