Loosing my color correction when compressing in compressor.

When I send a squence to compressor that has been color corrected when compressor is done it dose not show the color correction on the final compression anyone found a way to get around this? I am compressing HDV to H.264 for DVD Studio Pro. Thanks Gary Williams

Self-Contained

try making a self contained (not a reference) movie file in FCP, then quit out of FCP, and drag the new clip to compressor. This should work.

The best self-contained options should be

HDV 1440x1080 or DVC-Pro HD 1280x1080.

Sending Sequence

you stated you're sending your sequence to compressor, if you do that, then it may be looking at your source media. if you export a quicktime movie,

using file>export>quicktime movie (not quicktime conversion) then drop that movie into compressor, hope this helps,

I make a Quicktime movie self contained then I import it into compressor and compress it to H.264 60 min when it comes out of compressor, then I import it into dvd studio pro when I lay the track down on the timeline in studio pro and hit play my color correction dose not show up on the screen but when I stop the track from playing the color correction show up its weird, not sure why it plays and the color correction gose away? I am open for any suggestion to fix this thanks Gary

I *think* there is something funny with the Gamma curve in some programs with H264 - the file is correct but the playback is not?

Could be an issue like that, maybe?

Ya maybe but if I were to burn the HD dvd Im sure it would not come out right I wonder if any one else is having a problem doing color correction on HDV and having issues when they compress to H.264
