Best option for recording VHS Tapes?

I'm looking for a good option for recording old tapes from my VCR to my computer to flip to DVD. In the past I used EyeTV along with a USB Plextor recorder, but I no longer have that. The EyeTV 250+ looks good:

The Blackmagic Intensity card also looks to be a good option:

Since it's just going to be Composite (yellow plug) input, will it really make a difference if I go with an inexpensive USB solution? Are there better options out there for maximizing VCR input quality?

My video camera allows pass through, I connect the vcr to the camera, and capture to the computer via firewire.
