De-interlacing footage in FCP/AE -- any tips?

I was wondering if anyone could recommend the best settings for de-interlacing interlaced footage in FCP (5.1.4) or AfterEffects (CS3)?

I will be shooting an instructional dance video for DVD. After looking at my test shoot I think 60i looks much better than 30p as far as motion fidelity went, however am not a fan of the combing effect I see on my LCD TV when playing back on DVD.

Ae Cs3

AE is way better for this. Import your 60i and hit command + "F" . This will open the interpret footage box. Make sure you auto-interpret first!
Verify your frame rate is 30p.

You know, I forgot that I do have access to Shake if I need it... would that be better than AfterEffects? I don't really have much experience with Shake... the whole node thing goes over my head, but if it is the best tool... I'll give it a shot.
