Audio Drift Mystery
I just read about a half-dozen threads of people who have the same problem I have. A long concert that is in synch at beginning but off at the end (in my case about a full second).
This should not be happening. When I watch the clip in QT, it is perfect. So why is FCP having a problem with it. I don't think it's a camera issue. I use the XL2. I also edit in Premiere Pro. I did other concerts in PP and it never did this. And as I mentioned, why can I still watch the clip perfectly in synch in QT? Sounds like a FCP problem, not an XL2 problem. Any true solutions out there? At this point I refuse to adjust the length of the video to match the audio. Thanks. Alfred |
Is your footage in 24 or 30fps? I can't recall if the XL2 did 24fps or not. I have had issues of sound sync in FCP (but not in QTP) when I had 24pA footage on a 30fps timeline... even after changing the timeline to 24fps the issue remained because you have to make those changes before you insert the clips onto the timeline.

It is 24p. But I did all of the above mentioned. Still, I will set the sequence settings and place the clip again. Just to make sure. I know I had the setting right while capturing, but I can do that again, though I don't want to.
