Swf Converter To Video

I've come across a project of a cartoonist in need of converting his cartoons onto DVDs. I've found a number of programs that can do this feature, but they are for PC's.

Are there any programs out there that can convert an SWF file to a Quicktime movie file or something that will work with good quality to put on a DVD?

Thanks for your time and assistance!

I just tried it and errors came up all over the screen.

Usually that means that input file is truncated and/or corrupted.

This is another one I found, but unfortunately it did not work. I emailed the author to see if he had any suggestions.

My quicktime can open some swf files. I don't know if it's because I have flash, or a codec, but I can check a "play swf" box in my QT preferences.
He should really export the animations from flash for you, with the settings you need. This doesn't always work for me though, it depends if he has a "movie symbol" in his scene, in which case he would need to copy his frames in the movie symbol and paste frames into the actual scene.
I hate flash...

...I wonder if you can open it in flash player 9 and export from there?

In Flash File>Export>Export Movie can export directly to a quicktime movie. The cartoonist should do this and the send you the .mov files that you should be be able to get onto a DVD

Quicktime will not play the files. I've researched and the older versions of Quicktime will play the files. I found http://www.macvide.com and it seems to import and preview the files perfectly, although when I export them they come out really crappy with no sound.

This is turning out to be a difficult process, but thanks for the assistance so far.

Check this out. A little complicated at first but it did a good job the one time I used it.
