XDCam Ex video to web.

I'm working on a video shot with the Sony PMW-Ex1, edited in FCP Studio 2. I need to be able to put this video on a company's website. What is the best way to do this? Which format should I use so that they will not have massive load times? I'm new to the whole web delivery thing. Please help.

Hi Greg,

You should get in contact with the web master and find out what formats he needs. Then you will need to get encoding programs like Sorenson Squeeze or autodeck.

Take a look at dvcCast!, it's new but I'm really impressed with it. Very good quality H.264. It will let you create video for web, AppleTV, iPod, etc. Free 15 day trial available.

One of the cool features: Add chapers in FCS and export to a webpage

I don't really understand the need for other compressor programs, when you've got such a versatile program into Final Cut Studio: Compressor.
You can change almost every setting you can think of (heigth, width, aspect ratio, codec, ...)
Coming from the Premiere Pro world, this little program really is a blessing!

I think that compressor would handle it fine but, correct me if I'm wrong, Compressor has no targets for Windows formats. I'm concerned that if i load a QT that folks will have to go through the trouble of installing QT. The client is in a Windows world.

That's true, indeed. I really wish it would have a Flash option, but it doesn't.
