Rain, then sun, then rain then ...
Hello all.
I am editing a short comedy film, that was shot out of sequence across 3 days that have all different weather types. I can color correct most, however.. what should I do about the rain? I obviously cant remove it, but is there any way to add it ? thanks in advance chris |

Do you have After Effects? |
Chris,
It's a problem. Yeah, you can add streaky "falling raindrop" like images over top of your footage...but the central reality of rain is that things out in it GET WET! So adding all the streaking raindrop effects in the world OVER a scene won't make it look like the ground, the furniture, the people and everything else are actually getting wet - which is what happens in the real world. In typical production, if there's rain in the master shot - you can be sure the director will call out the hoses so that there's continuity of rain in all the cutaways, etc - even if they're shot on otherwise rain free days. At best, you can try to make it look "similar" with effects, but depending on the shots you need, it's a pretty difficult task to do in post. Sorry. |
ok. thanks. Will try this ccRain thing.. didn't even think about the wet objects however!
thanks |
