Caldigit FireWireVR vs. G-Tech G-Raid2, 1TB

Well, I need to purchase a (relatively) low-end firewire raid setup and have pretty much narrowed my choices down to these two drives. The G-Raids are very popular, but Caldigit is a good brand and FireWireVR seems to have some significant featureset advantages (Raid 1 support, drive swappability, etc.) I've also read a few horror stories about the G-Raids, many on the Apple Store website. I'm leaning towards the Caldigit but which do you think I should go with? If there's something else that's better out there in this price range, please let me know.

Personally, I love Mac Gurus (Burly Bays).... you can call them and they will walk you through all the advantages/disadvantages (they sell Cal Digit boxes).

Personally, unless you are spending the bucks to do a hardware RAID set up, a software RAID is almost counter-productive.... but that's just my opinion.
