Final Cut Text editor

What is the best way to edit cut/paste text in Final Cut? Currently I am using basic text but need some text to be bold and some italic which the text editor in FC will not allow.

Learn to love LiveType. If you're working with FCP6, you can even import the .ipr files for inclusion in your FCP timelines, instead of having to render QT movies first.

I will dive into LIve Type

Paul
Also check out using Title 3D in the Boris folder .. it doesn't have to be 3D, and it suports formatting
You can also have a look at my Basic Text plugin which allows you to import a pre-formatted text file http://web.me.com/andymees

Thanks Andy today is Text day to learn Live Type and I will also look at Boris.

Your text editor plugin is interesting but the text I am dealing with is from two to 10 lines each at 50 times in a one hr DVD. And it is two DVD's. So to do it fast with the ability to have some bold in one text and then italic and then plain in the same line and all drop shadow will make life easy.

Keep the suggestions coming I will check back through out the day.

Shaun Live Type is easy and a great solution.

You're welcome. I avoided it like the plague for years as I thought it was "chumpy". Motion isn't stable on my system so I was forced to go back and use LT and realized it wasn't all that bad, especially if you can use the .ipr files instead of having to render QuickTimes each time. Round tripping to make changes can be VERY easy under FCP6...

Lynda.com is great and with only text I did not have to go far into the lesson to solve the problem.
