Changing Frame rate of a Clip
Alright, I've got Final cut down pretty good, but one thing is still a mystery.
Can we knock down the frame rate of a clip? I was able to do it with Premiere and Vegas, but I'm stumped on FCP. I tried the strobe filter but the feel is not the same. Jeff rescue me! |
Hi Mark,
Do you have any more detail on what you're trying to accomplish? HTH, Clayton |
Thanks Clayton,
I just want to knock down to 24 (23.98) |
Joes Filters has a frame rate adjuster. Not to mention a lot of other very useful filters.
|
Speaking of Joes Filters, how would you rate the quality of their filters?
|
I tend to use Joes Filters on every project. IMO they are excellent.

IF you want to go from 29.97 to 24p, resulting in a 24p timeline you could export to a 24p quicktime, then I have the solution for you. I wrote a pair of Standards Conversion filters for FCP - www.nattress.com - and the Film Converter is expecially designed to go from NTSC to 24p. You can see the results of it on my website where I detailed the use of this technique to produce a web short "Bird Brains: The Nest Generation" - http://www.nattress.com/BirdBrains/birdBrainsWorkflow.htm
If you want to make your 60i look like 24p, but have it reside in a normal NTSC timeline, then look at my Film Effects, as that's what that was desinged for. Graeme |
