Comments not retained when importing EDL (into FCP or Avid)!

Two editors using the same EDL (exported by FCP 6.whatever-the-latest-is) on different systems—Avid on Windows, FCP on Mac (same that gen'd the EDL)—are both experiencing the same issue: when importing the EDL, the comments don't make it.

In the EDL, each has a comment that was from the Comment A field of the FCP browser. I export the EDL and then import it into a new project, everything goes according to plan except for the missing comments!

The editor in a different facility has the exact same headache when importing it into Avid!

Is this actually expected behaviour, or is something amiss?

Perhaps instead of naming the column "Column A" name it "Notes" because that is what is most commonly used in Avid.

In the EDL, the entry just shows up as "Comment". For example:

Code:
001  001      V     C        11:02:08:14 11:02:20:00 01:00:00:00 01:00:11:11
* FROM CLIP NAME:  VX348-1.MOV
* COMMENT: LENS_DEFOCUS_DIRTY

002  001      V     C        11:40:53:24 11:41:00:16 01:00:11:11 01:00:18:03
* FROM CLIP NAME:  VX348-1 PT2.MOV
* COMMENT: DIRTY_DEBRIS_01
Whether it is imported into FCP or Avid, the info in COMMENT does not come in.
