Help multicam edit, out of sync after 40 min.

Doing a multicam edit in fcp ( version 6.0.6)
Just started to do a little test set up with 2 video's. I sync them up and it is all god but after 40 min one of the videos is 4-5 frames behind! This is a Huge problem! it is a 1 hour live concert filmed with 4 EX1 all where set to (1080 25p 35Mb/s VBR) So that should not be the problem.

I sync up the video with in point's in the beginning, but I could see that it was a little behind in the end.

So I do a quick sync in the time line with 2 clips on top of each other, sync the movement in the beginning, set the opacity to 50 so it is half transparent, and the I can se that one of the cameras is still behind...... after 30-40 min. HOW is that possible ?

BTW my time line setting's should be correct: Unlimited RT, Dynamic.

Has any body heard about this problem be for?

quick work around

well the job has to be done. So I just adjusted the speed of the clip with 0.02 % (27 frames) and now it plays perfect all the way.

PERSONALLY, I would have placed all four video clips on four different tracks in the timeline and resync'd the out of time footage at edit points by sliding the "offending" clip back into sync. That's how I handle out of sync issues.

And the issue of the camera falling "out of sync" is due to internal clocks not running at EXACTLY the same speed, which is why broadcast cameras have the option to GENLOCK (Black Generator Lock) cameras to each other using continuously connected BNC cables (NOT just "jam locking") or to master black/sync so that each camera's clock is "firing" at EXACTLY the same rate AND the frame scan of each camera begins at EXACTLY the same issue (useful for live switching).

Is the file suddenly behind or does it gradually go out of sync?

hmmm I still have alot to learn :-)

Thanks for the tips, and knowledge! I will remember that for my next concert/ multicam edit
