Off Topic...

i know it's off topic but i feel such a bond with you fellow XL2 owners i had to ask you all...

i'm trying to tip a scene in a movie(dvd) that has my company logo on it...
i know there's software that allows you to back up dvd's by copying the entire thing onto your harddrive, but i just to to copy a scene...

any help would be greatly appreciated... HI FIVES...

DVDxDV software (Mac). Not sure if this software exists for PC but I'm sure there is something similar. It allows you to mark an "In" & "Out" and only make a copy of what is between them.

Kevin, let us know which platform (PC/Mac) and which software you are using and we'll move this thread into one of the computer forums for you, where you will get much more attention than in this XL2 forum.

Thanks

okay... i tried DVDxDV... but upon using it... the playback is really choppy with green blocks everywhere... i hit up tech support and they told me that the disc was encrypted...

how will i get the best results:
a. using snapz PRO to capture my screen as the movie plays...
or
b. removing the encryption and then opening it up with DVDxDV....

How fast is your Mac? SnapzPro is great quality, really needs a fast processor and the more ram, the better.

Kevin DVDXPro, Breaks encryption. I'm not sure where to buy it, but it is software that you must register as they worry about infringing upon copyright laws.

i have a dual gig G4, maxed out ram(1.5 gigs) runnin osx 10.3.5...

snapz pro was a little sluggish... so i'm really looking into DVDxDV...

now... the DVDxPro... would this be the pro version of DVDxDV??? i saw it on the website but didn't know what the difference was...

Jeff Donald October 1st, 2004 09:05 PM

I think you would need a G5 for Snapz to be able to keep up and not drop frames. But I can say that it works.

okay... just got done messin with the trial of the DVDxDV pro... i'm not sure if this is the DVDXPRO that you mentioned earlier... but DVDxDVpro does NOT remove the encryption... i would have to remove the encryption with another App... where can i find DVDxPRO???

DVD2ZoneX removes encryption as well. You can get it from http://www.dvd2one.com/download.php
