NTSC Monitor and card

I want to get an NTSC monitor. I think I need a card for it, too. Any suggestions for the monitor and card? I am using FCP and a g5.

Generally speaking you will want to connect your monitor via firewire to an external device such as a deck, convertor box or even a camera. These would drive your NTSC monitor using either s-video or component video. A setup like this will show you what the actual DV stream looks like, as opposed to a video card which FCP would feed directly from the computer. For awhile I drove a monitor using a separate video card with FCP. It certainly worked, but the image did not look the same as when I went the external route with firewire through my camcorder.

Nate,

I'm looking for the same thing, however, I'm working in uncompressed 10 bit rather than DV. Do you know of a card that will output to 2 vga monitors and one composite NTSC monitor?

Thanks.

You'll be needing a capture card. But the monitor....the computer monitors, will still be connected to your graphics card. the NTSC monitor can be connected via the capture card.
