Snow Leopard/FCS issues

I have the latest version of FCS to install on my MBP and am thinking of installing Snow Leopard first.

Are there any good places detailing problems with either/or Snow Leopard and FCS 3?

I am mostly using a JVC GY-HM100 (records in .mov format etc)

Its working well for me John, but what you might want to consider is whether you are specifically mid -project or have any important older projects that you still need to work on hanging about. If so then caution would be advised, neither FCP7 nor Snow Leopard bring any earth shatteringly important new functionality to the video production table at thos stage. They are both important building blocks but in and of themselves at their current release version its nothing you need too urgently. That said, if there are specific improvements included that you do have a need for (for example, if your work uses a good deal of speed effects, or if you work on long form documentary projects for which the much improved marker handling would be a great boon) then you might want to weigh that in the decision.

As for a site specifically detailing issues and non-issues then you might want to have a gander at the Snow Leopard and FCS3 threads over on the LAFCPUG:

Many thanks Andy, that is very helpful.

I'm going to start a new long travel film in the next few months, so thought it may as well be on the new version of fcs if nothing else, as it will be a learning curve again since it is a few years since I have done much with fcs, and the speed changes will be useful for the film also.

Snow Leopard sounds like it is a nice tweak with some speed increases and 10.5.0 worked well for me as I'm only on a MBP - no fancy cards stuck inside that I need to wait for drivers for.

Plus I have a dual hard drive unit installed so can keep 10.5 on the other hard drive anyway ;-)
