FCP/Soundsoap 2 workflow

I have another question for which someone may have some cogent suggestions. Or any.
I have a project , nearly finished, in FCP 3.4. It is one sequence and the timeline is just under two hours. I have captured footage from many sources: from VHS, S-VHS, 3/4 U-Matic, Beta SP, mini-DV and DV-CAM, all digitized to DV-CAM where needed. I "fixed" the problematic visuals (which, as one might imagine, has taken much time and color/image work), and began work on the audio. Ouch. This is some nasty stuff in places...from poor acquisition dancing with weak format to simply old tape in precipitous decline.
While I know the audio tools in FCP are simple at best, and work well in tuning fairly good acquisition, they were no match for this gorilla. I have purchased Soundsoap 2 in hopes that this application, (perhaps, in league with the Peak 3.2 tools with FCP, which I've used rarely) will improve my final output.
However, my question to the gurus regards workflow. As Soundsoap 2 is not a "plugin" for FCP (Why not? one would be inclined to ask), what is the drill for removing clips from an existing timeline, exporting them to Soundsoap and then bringing them back, happily audio corrected and "in sync", into my sequence?
Thanks

Export your audio track as .aiff "audio only" and open it in PEAK or DECK or even SoundSoap, as it is a standalone application as well. Re-master your audio and then reimport it into FCP and lay it in place. Should work like a charm.
