Capturing Qestion. Please advise.
 

I want to take footage from a DVD. Is there anyway to do this on my mac? Thanks in advance for your help.

MPEG Stream Clip is what you need.

So far the only way I've done it is to play it back with a player and then capture it through the player's analog outputs.

And that's only if it's not copy protected.

I wanted to grab a clip out of Cast Away and put a tourist walking by in the background of the deserted island but there was no way to get a usable signal out of it, not even for the 10 seconds of experimental material I wanted to mess with.
