Final Cut Pro 5 & Actual HDV editing yet?
Has anyone edited footage from an HDV camera such as the Sony FX1, Z1 or a JVC HD1 or HD10 yet in Final Cut Pro 5?
If so, what did you think? Does it work as smooth as the demo on the Apple web site? |
You mean Final Cut Pro 5?

The only flavor of HD FCP HD (4.5) has ever been able to edit is DVCProHD. FCP 5 is a true HD solution but I'm not using it yet.
Lumier HD allows you to edit HDV off-line as DV then converts it back to HDV from the original footage, or something like that. There's a Lumier HD forum here. |
Sorry, long day, and I was looking at the box on my desk with the big HD on it. I met 5. Thanks.

loading HDV from HD1
I'm finally loading HDV from a JVC GR-HD1 into FCP5.
It was a bit touch and go at first. The tape I'm loading had both SD and HD material on it. It took awhile for me to figure out that I needed to pause the tape on HD material in order to get FCP5 to talk to the camera. But it's capturing just fine and the video looks GREAT. |
