fcp: horizontal lines and filters

1 Attachment(s)
I'm editing a project now in FCP. I started noticing horizontal lines (see below). I realized I can get them to go away by unchecking and rechecking filters that I've applied to the clips (in the case of this example, it was the 3 way color corrector filter). Anyone know why this is happening? I have a lot of clips and filters, and I'd rather not do this for every clip.

I'm using FCP 6.06, Mac 10.6.2, and my footage is from a Canon 5DMII, converted to Prores.

That's just the interlacing lines. If the footage isn't rendered after putting a filter on, they won't show up. They aren't anything to worry about if your final output is for the TV. You should use the de-interlace filter if you are outputting to the web though.

Thanks for the response. I've been Googling this issue and realized that my sequence settings in FCP should have field dominance set to "none" instead of "upper." From what I've read so far, that setting should be used when converting with mpegstreamclip as well as set in FCP. I've just changed my FCP sequence setting and am waiting for render to finish to see if this works. I had exported to my iPhone and the interlacing looked horrible.

What I'm working on will be output for Web; not TV. I'll try the de-interlace filter if changing the field dominance setting doesn't work. Does that filter degrade the image much, if at all?

I haven't exported yet, but after changing my sequence's field dominance to "none," and rendering, the interlace lines have totally gone away. I haven't used the de-interlace filter.
