2x WD 1To RE3 best way to configure for FCP editing

Hi everyone !

I'm about to complete my config for FCP editing.
I've been looking around for tips helping me configure my drives. In terms of hardware I've come up with these items:
Mac pro 2009 with Radeon 4870, 8 cores 2,26Ghz, 12 Gb ram, 300Gb Velociraptor (for OS drive), 2 x 1To RE3 Western Digital (for scratch and working drives), and the original mac 640Gb drive for my Time machine.
I was waiting for the RE3's to be shipped and here they are ! But now that I'm about to configure them, i kinda hesitate, should I go for Raid 0 (increasing performance of the RE3's) or should I go for JBOD for safer set up (avoiding loosing all data with a potential Raid 0 drive failure).
I'm working tapeless with XDCAM EX (PMW EX1) and I've just recycled my former PC station's external hard drives (I've got a dozen of 'em, really) so I may not be worried about backing up my footage... I guess. But I still wonder what's the best use of these fancy RE3's (Well not that fancy, I mean RE4's or better external raid towers exist, but still sweet, for my budget).

Plus if I go for Raid 0, what block size should i choose in the Raid configuration of mac OS X disk utility? smaller like 32 Kb or bigger like 256 Kb?

It may sounds noob but... if you guys have any advices, it would be really appreciated !

Cheers !

Raid 0

If backing up the data is not a problem, then go for RAID 0 with a larger block size since you're using a potentially larger file size for video.
