Edit a timeline in FC7 to be used in FC6

I need to prepare a project in FinalCut that will be used for projection directly out of FC with a beamer on the screen. It is basically a bunch of slides and commercials which change every day. In the past, I prepared a project with about 50 sequences (5 for each day) and played it directly from the machine. The machine we will use has FC 6. The system I use to pepare the clips has FC 7.
Is there a way that I can make a project from FC 7 work on FC 6?

The people who own the machine with FC6 do not want to upgrade because the machine is a 2.7 Ghz G5 - and there is not really any budget to spend for the upgrade since this event happens only once a year and has extremely limited budget...
Any suggestions?

You can export the project file as an XML and it will be readable in FCP 6.

Thank you - I will try that first thing on Monday...

Hey Oliver
Be sure to export your project using a version of FCP's XML interchange format that is readable by the earlier version of FCP .... basically DONT export using version 5 as I beleive that only works with FCP7 or later, instead for FCP 6 you should export using version 4 (or lower). That said, if its too late, there is a trick to getting the v5 XML to open up in FCP6 or earlier by modifying the text of the XML (or in such circumstances you could also use Jon Chappells' excellent FCS Maintenance Pack toolset to handle the XML version conversion)
Hope it helps
Andy
