Need Help with Print to Tape

I am new to FCP and a recent convert from PC/Pinnacle 12 to Mac/FCP. Would appreciate any help with the easy set up as well as Print to Video.

One of the best $25 you could spend right now is a month's subscription to Lynda.com. You can get excellent on-line training on all the FCS apps and a lot more too. It should answer all your questions and a whole lot more. It can introduce you to things you didn't even know could be done!

lynda.com is a great idea

in fact... i am just about to finish a free week there that will end this saturday... they do this from time to time so you should bookmark their site, or just pay the 25$ and try it for a month.

another good source is the apple certified pro training series from peachpit press.

surprisingly, if you checkout the fcp manual you will find all the info that's in most of the tutorials, just not as concise.

Thanks for info.

Appreciate the advice. Am on my second FCP project. The old "Jump into the deep end" is a bit of an understatement with FCP but I am finding it very powerful and rewarding.

Do you guys use FCP to import or iMovie? I find using iMovie as the import program preferable as each scene's file name is the time and date. I can then refer these file names to my dive log and work out where I was diving at that time exactly.

Again thanks heaps

iMovie '09 actually has some very nifty library features like being able to scrub through masses of clips very quickly. You can even do a rough cut in iMove & then export an XML file which can then be imported into FCP & form the basis of the project.

I think if you call up lynda.com they will give you a free pass. Not sure how long it is for tho...
