Compress a MP3?
I record lectures onto the laptop using Soundtrack Pro. I export them out of SP into MP3's for podcast. My client has a new web company and I can't upload any files bigger then 10 MB. I think it has something to do with itunes who they use for their podcasting now. Anyway even when I export at the lowest kilobyte (32 in SP) I can't get the files under 10MB. Is there a way to make the file smaller. I tried a couple of things in compressor with no luck.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Carlos |
You can -
reduce the bit amount - 16 - 12 - 8 bit reduce the frequency - 48KHz to 22Khz or less reduce the bit rate (kbps) - 128 - as low as you find acceptable Since it's just a lecture, there shouldn't be a lot of problems. You need to experiment till you hit that sweet spot. |
Download this free program, it works great, imports and exports to many audio formats, and if you go to Encoder settings, you can just put in the bitrates etc. :
