Apple Color Crashing when sending files back to FCP

I recently color corrected something in Apple Color and made the footage have a 70's look to them. When I was done rendering the clips in Color, I tried sending them back to to FCP. Upon clicking this, Color crashes. And it repeatedly crashes every time I attempt to do this. Any ideas?

Can't see your system from here... Which version of Final Cut Studio? OS? Computer model? How much Ram? Media storage and free space on your media drive? Some details would help.

Generally, the solution to most FCP problems is trashing prefs so try that first. Otherwise, details would certainly help track things down.

Oops sorry about that. FCS 7, Snow Leopard 10.6.4, Macbook Pro 13 inch 2 GHz, 2 GB RAM, 500 GB LaCie external drive 331 GB available. I am also doing this with just these programs open, nothing else is taking up space on my RAM.

Thanks for filling in the blanks...

I would say you are definitely light on RAM and really at the low end of specs for being able to run Color. While the specs say 1 gb or 2 gb of RAM, I think realistically having all of those apps open requires more RAM.

Try this... Launch just Color and import the clip. Perform all of your Color corrections. Render. See if you can render out a .mov. Then close Color, launch FCP and import.

Also, check your codec in Color. Make certain you are going out to ProRes rather than uncompressed.

But I'm guessing you just don't have a robust enough system.

Yeah I have been meaning to update my RAM for a while, just haven't gotten around to doing it.

And that worked...I just had to re-edit transitions and such but it produced the same results. Thanks so much Ned.
