Editing P2 and AVCCAM in some timeline
 

I currently have a P2 camera. I am debating getting n additional AVCCAM. I was curious if anyone has any experience editing with both formats within the same project/timeline.

P2 is not a codec, it's a storage medium, so I assume your question is really about mixing DVCProHD with what ever the AVCHD gets converted to. FCP cannot handle AVDHD natively on the sequence timeline, so it needs to be transcoded first.

AVCHD would typically be transcoded in to ProRes 422 or ProRes 422 (LT) (or proxy if you are editing on a slower machine), so FCP then has no problem editing it at all.
