Anyone using Final Touch?

I'm wondering if I can get some help on how to do certain things in Final Touch. Namely:

A- Monitoring: FTHD definitely shows the image darker than what it's supposed to be. This is with DV and HD (varicam, captured 10bit 24p).
The scopes are off too. "100"(Final Touch units) is not maximum legal white.

B- Lossiness: On re-import into Final Cut, 10bit HD footage is slightly darker and has possible banding.

C- Luminance functions: Gain and gamma controls in Final Touch operate in RGB color space, not luminance. Is there are a way to get a gamma control that operates just on luminance?

D- Halos: When using vignettes and the gamma control, how do you get rid of the halos around objects?

E- Banding: The vignette and blur filters appear to cause banding to me. How do I avoid this?

I haven't tried it myself, but there's a fairly long review in the August issue of DV magazine. They didn't mention problems like these, but cautioned that the software was really designed for professional colorists and would involve a steep learning curve for most people. They also said that Silicon Color offers free training sessions every Saturday in San Diego.

The review by Steve Hullfish concludes: "I have a hard time recommending the system for a casual or part-time colorist, but I think this is definitely a powerful and fully featured tool for users who color-correct as a full-time occupation--or who wish they could."
