Timeline Preview vs QT Export (looks 'overexposed')

I was thinking it was WYSIWIG once the timeline was rendered but apparently I'm missing something. I rendered the TL, then exported a self-contained file at project resolution. Take a look at the pic and let me know what you think. The foreground/Left side is the QT player, the background/Right side is the Canvas. To my eye the exported file looks overexposed a stop or two. Any thoughts?

The clips have a 3-way CC added, nothing more.
