Refresh issue with Apple Cinema Display?

Hi,

I'm using a 23" Apple Cinema HD Display as a 2nd monitor hooked up to 17" Macbook Pro 2.8GHz/7i via the mini display port. When I play out ProRes from the timeline with the external display set as Digital Cinema Desktop Preview, the image looks sliced horizontally, approximately in thirds, very noticeable when something is moving. Could it be a refresh issue, parts of the screen showing adjacent frames?

I'm thrown because surely the latest MBP has ample VRAM to handle it (NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M with 512MB). The Cinema Display is not latest generation LED (it's 2008), but I understand the MBP & Cinema Display is a tried and tested combination.

The media is on an external drive connected by firewire 800. I'm running FCP 6.0.6, Sequence setting is HDV captured to ProRes422(HQ). Actually, it shows the same issue displaying DV-PAL! I don't see the lines when I play full screen on the MBP (i.e via Digital Cinema Desktop Preview - Main).

Any ideas about how to fix?
