Twixtor Question
 

I am trying to speedramp using twixtor in FCP. I create a nested sequence of say 10 copies of the original clip to create the appropriate length to accomodate the reduction in speed and this all works fine.

However when I try and keyframe the nested sequence (so that it plays at 100% speed before rapidly slowly down) the nested sequence will start again a few times at the start of the original clip while playing. Is this simply because, by speeding up the sequence to 100% at the start the whole sequence is now too long?

Not sure about FCP but in Adobe I use a black sequence instead of nesting several copies... you might try that... Its just one copy of the black lead- video... you can streatch it as long or short as you want...

No, unfortunately you have to create the nested sequence as Twixtor cannot extend a clip beyond its original length in FCP.

I'm surprised how few good tutorials there are about Twixtor considering how many people seem to use it (maybe they all find it incredibly easier to use!) The videos on the re:vision site are ok but would be great if someone could give a full explanation of how to optimise the settings in Twixtor in different situations and how to use all the advanced features

Sorry, maybe I didn't explain it well...

say you have your original clip and its 10 seconds in lenght and you want twixtor to extend the time to 20 seconds....

I place the 10second original clip on the timeline.. then nest a 20 second black clip under the original clip.
nested.... then when twitor renders it uses the 20 second black clip as the time for extending the original clip...

Whats nice about the black clip is you can drag it to what ever lenght you want... you don't have to nest but one black sequence....
