Final Cut Auto Save Vault
 

Hi guys...

Can someone please help. I'm trying to figure out why my "Auto Save Vault" Final Cut Pro documents folder is deleting everything after a few days. It is solely this folder. I assume it's a setting in my System Preferences in Final Cut, however I do not see anything regarding how long a file stays in the folder on the hard drive. I appreciate it....

Hi Edward,

It is most likely:

User Preferences>General

Autosave Vault options are bottom left. "Keep at most" and "Maximum of" may be set low. You want the first to be 20+ depending on project size and autosave time (mine is only 3 min). I also save a max of 25 projects which covers anything current with ease.

Thanks for the reply. Current setting are 40 and 25 respectively, with Auto Save at 5 min. I assumed these settings would be sufficient. Nevertheless, I've boosted the two to 100 each and I'll see how that works. It is a pretty HUGE project though.
