A stupid editing mistake...sequence settings...help please.

I've filmed 4 short 5 minute interviews and have captured them all (using Final Cut Pro 6).

I've edited the first 3 and converted them into quicktime movies...this is where I noticed my silly mistake.

In the 2nd interview, I forgot to tick the Anamorphic 16:9 check box in the sequence settings before I started editing it. If I tick it now, the picture gets squashed.

What do I do please to rectify this,so that the picture matches the other 2 interviews I've edited?

Hope I've explained it clearly enough!

Thank you.

Tick the setting and apply 33 distort to each clip.

I've been in that situation. Just to expand on what Bart said, you need to open the clip and change it's aspect ratio in the motion tab of the viewer. Specifically the distort attribute. Originally, the only way I could get around it was to drop the clip on the timeline again but the distort setting is the better way

Okay, just to get this clear before I mess it up anymore....

I'll go to my edited footage on the timeline, highlight it all, click the motion/distort tab, then change the aspect ratio to 33? (it is currently on -33, where all my other clips are on zero).

Maybe there is a better option instead of distorting them one by one.

Does this help:

- change the sequence settings. (everything becomes squashed)

- select all the clips, in the menu bar go to Modify
Select : conform to sequence.

Does that help?

David, in that case perhaps applying 0 distort would work. Find which is the best on a single clip, and then copy it to the rest of the clips.
